In the mid-80"s, we moved to Vermont and lived on a dirt road high on a hill. Very fortunately, or neighbor further up the hill was a Vermont native in his 70's and taught me everything I know about gardening. Elwin would walk down the hill to feed the horses and he would always wear his heavy tall rubber boots. I ordered my very first pair of green rubber Gardening Boots which I still have to this day. I was compelled to paint an image of my boots as the first design in the Garden Collection. The Watering Can and the Wheelbarrow followed since they were the most important tools I used to create my very own first vegetable garden
