Casey Hanson: Photographer – Works of Wyoming Gift n Gallery

Casey Hanson: Photographer

Casey Hanson

I am a native of Wyoming, born and raised, and still residing in Casper, Wyoming.

I took an interest in photography and art at a very young age.

My main concentration with my photography is live venue, still life and macro. I also love symmetry and water, as well. I see art everywhere, and am constantly looking for new, fun things to photograph.

I am also a jewelry designer and an acrylic artist/painter.

I am determined to show people a different way of seeing ordinary things, and turning them into art. I have been photographing professionally for 20 years now. I acquired my AFA in photography at Casper College and also belong to Phi Theta Kappa honor Society.

I was the featured artist with my show, titled, “The Path to Find Her”,at the Mildred Zahradnicek Gallery for the Sixth Season of the redStone recital and gallery series in November of 2018. The show featured 10 images, taken of the Pathfinder area, out by the Sweetwater arm, west of Casper.

I was a permanent member of The Eagles Nest Artisan Gallery located in Mcminnville, Oregon until Covid unfortunately caused the closing of the gallery permanently in March of 2020.

My image, “ Fog on the Mountain”, won first place in the annual juried show at the Casper Artists Guild ART321 2018

My image, “ Weathered ”, won first place at the Annual Platte River Photography Show in Douglas 2019.

My image, “Single”, won second place in the Platte River Photography Show in Douglas, Wyoming  2020.

I have been a member of ART321 and the Artist’s Guild for many years and participate in shows there, as well as sell my work in the gift shop.

I have been the featured artist at the C85 Branding Iron several times now, showing during the Casper Art walks 2019 to currently.

I seek to see the simplest of things, in an artistic way. Speaking specifically on my photography, I try to intrigue the viewer. I want them to find my work appealing, clever and maybe help them to see the world a little differently. The most mundane objects can be so beautiful. They really can!

Being a native of Wyoming, I have been blessed with not only beautiful landscapes, but a plethora of interesting and unique subjects to photograph all year round.I am also attracted to creating images from water and lines. The possibilities are endless. I am constantly on an adventure to turn the ordinary into art.
