Collection: Rose Gardner

Rose Gardner

Born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming with a decade away living in other states and countries, Rose is a working visual artist, graphic designer, and economist.

Her work specializes in a mixture of watercolor spiral inkwork, collage (physical + digital), mixed media pieces, acrylic flow painting, and whimsical digital artwork.

Her art pieces tend to focus on the local landscape and fauna, as well as pieces that explore grief, anxiety, and Jewish themes. Her work is created through the lens of contemporary and modern visuals with surrealist twists. The main takeaway she hopes her work can impart is "koev li halev" which roughly means empathy for suffering.

Her work has been featured in various galleries, cafes, and institutions across Wyoming, Colorado, New York, and Barcelona, Spain. She has also been featured in various media and print organizations and participated in numerous local and national competitions.

Statement - I am a visual artist specializing in a mixture of spiral inkwork, acrylic flow painting, 3D mixed medium pieces, and whimsical digital artwork.

My pieces tend to focus on nature, Judaica, anxiety relief, and pain through the lens of contemporary and modern visuals. I seek to be a conduit through my work for mindful expression and a joyful, colorful aesthetic yet also seeking to induce the feeling of "koev li halev" which roughly means empathy for suffering.

My pieces are almost all entirely free flow made with maybe a planned focal point or inspiration with little strategic planning and come together in the chaotic messy process. I find this to be reflective of life in all its lack of control.
