Collection: Jeanie Lamborn - Collage Artist
Artist Statement:
In 2020, when the world went silent due to Covid, I began to collage pet portraits for friends and family. It was my way of showing love and encouragement to my people.
Today I am still in love with the process of working with found paper and all the color, pattern and texture offered. I use old magazines, sheet music, calendars, books, wrapping paper, and saved greeting cards. I can develop texture created with paint using doilies or found objects such as bubble wrap or dish scrubbers. If I cannot find the right color of paper I will paint my own. I adhere the paper to canvas or art board using acrylic Matte Medium and finish with a UV protection. The art is very durable.
All manor of portraits are still a favorite subject, but Wyoming offers endless possibility in her beautiful flowers, plants, and landscapes. The west and its people are timeless. I want to capture those timeless moments, gather them up, and share them with others.
