Collection: Sharon Mathiesen: Mixed Media

Artist Statement

I create a variety of hand-built art works, using low-fire clay and mixed media. I am inspired by nature, symbols and different ancient cultures and how these can bring people together.  My feathers represent an ancient symbol used across many cultures, symbolizing hope, love, balance, wisdom, freedom, trust and strength, as well as carriers of energy. They have always represented a connection to the spiritual realms. The images are painted in acrylics and are typically images of wildlife and nature.
