She completed her high school education in Crawford in 1966. In 1975, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Chadron State College, majoring in Art with a minor in the same field. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter obtaining her degree, Teresa opened a small gallery in Greeley, Colorado, where she operated for three years. Later, she transitioned to the restaurant industry and ran businesses with her husband in Laramie and Sheridan, Wyoming, for 17 years. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUpon retiring from the restaurant sector, Teresa returned to her family farm in Chadron, Nebraska. My aim was to convey the essence of these magnificent creatures as they thrive in their natural habitat, highlighting their grace and strength.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eMy first encounter with a grizzly bear happened during the summer of 1967 while I was employed as a waitress at Togwotee Mountain Lodge, nestled high in Togwotee Pass, Wyoming. The lodge was a rustic haven surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains. We lived in dormitories toward the back of the lodge and above the laundry area, which was on the ground level. One evening, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the ground, I ventured outside to tackle a pile of laundry. The air was crisp and filled with the earthy scents of pine and wildflowers when I suddenly notice a movement beneath the stairway. My heart raced as curiosity piqued my senses. Without thinking, I instinctively made a loud stomping noise, and to my astonishment, a juvenile grizzly bear burst out from its hiding spot. For a brief moment, we locked eyes - it's large, dark gaze filled with curiosity and perhaps a hint of caution mirroring my own surprise. Then, as quickly as it had appeared, the bear darted away into the safety of the forest nearby, leaving me momentarily breathless.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eI had been cautioned numerous times about the unpredictable nature of bears in the area.
